The Sunpak Auto DX 8R is a macro ring flash designed for close up macro or portrait photography.  As a ring flash, the flash unit mounts onto the front of the lens and provides even, direct illumination of the subject while eliminating potentially distracting shadows that most flashes would cause in these situations. 

This unit comes with the CA-2D adapter which gives the flash additional TTL compatibility with Canon FD cameras such as the AE-1, A-1, AV-1, AT-1 and New F-1.

This flash comes in its case. A previous owner has taped a homemade diffuser of sorts over half the ring.
